Advanced non-invasive blood flow mapping for the heart

Cardiovascular Cartography (CCG)

What is CCG?

Cardiovascular Cartography (CCG) is an advanced non-invasive coronary artery imaging system that gives complete haemodynamic picture of the heart to map myocardial blood flow and informs of coronary artery disease, oxygen status, etc. It is a cost effective and risk free solution to detect heart diseases and decreased blood flow years before a heart attack may occur. CCG is approved by FDA (USA), CE (Europe), MDA (UK) etc. and manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003

How it works?

Patient is asked to not indulge in tea, coffee, alcohol, smoking or tobacco use for 12 hours before the test. No medicines like Sorbitrate, anti-hypertensive drugs etc. should be taken 12 hours prior to the test. Patient should come empty stomach. Patient lies on the CCG bed and special electrodes, sensors, transducers and continuous non-invasive blood pressure monitors are used to acquire and analyse data. The procedure generally concludes within 20 minutes.

Who should have CCG?

  • Everyone should be regularly screened after 30 years of age

  • High risk patients with a family history of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity/over-weight, increased cholesterol or haemocystein, smokers, alcoholics and people living sedentary or stressful lifestyles

  • Patients experiencing chest pain

  • Patients who need to assess the effectiveness of treatments like ACT, ECP/EECP, ESMR, Angioplasty or Bypass

  • For early detection of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

  • For early detection of left heart failure

  • For analysing sympathetic/para-sympathetic pre-dominance

  • For analysing whether Aspirin, Yoga, Meditation etc. can help

  • As part of regular health check up

  • Mass screenings for institutions, insurance companies, corporates etc.

Benefits of CCG

  • Non-invasive

  • Affordable

  • No anaesthesia required

  • Short test time

  • Usually no hospital stay required

  • No acute or long-term side-effects

  • Compliments ongoing therapies

Information provided by CCG?

  • Cardiovascular Cartogram This is the relationship between the Pressure, Volume, Time, Contractility and flow giving an idea of the changes that may be physiological, compensatory or pathological.

  • Realistic Geometric Cartographic Image - It helps assess myocardial blood flow reduction.

  • Total Arterial Compliance - It helps asses the Elasticity Property of blood vessels. Impaired Total Arterial Compliance occurs due to Endothelial Dysfunction that decreases with age and in Diabetes, Hypertension and Hyperlipidaemia etc.

  • Ventricular Compliance - It helps asses the Elasticity Property of Myocardial muscle. It may be impaired in Hypertrophy, Heart Failure and uncontrolled Diabetes

  • Myocardial Demand Supply and Reserve - It helps assess the demand, supply and reserve of blood flow to the heart muscle.

  • Intercycle Physiology - It informs about the Arrhytmogenic status which explains the risk of sudden cardiac death and drug induced arrhythmias.

  • Predominance of Autonomic Nervous System - It assesses Sympathetic overdrive which can cause the patient to be prone to sudden cardiac death and poor prognosis.

  • Total Myocardial Burden - It assesses the load on the heart. Myocardial burden may be due to ischemia, pressure or volume effects.

Safety of CCG?

ACT is non-invasive and can be performed without the risks associated with surgical procedures. Additionally, the rate of complications resulting from CCG is considered negligible, with no reports of arrhythmias, heart failure, syncope, palpitations, breathing difficulty, bleeding, embolism, shock, or troponin.
